There’s perhaps no better holiday event than heading out with the whole family to pick the perfect Christmas tree, then cut it down yourself. If this sounds good to you, Durham Region offers two convenient Christmas tree farms to choose from. Located at 545 Regional Rd.21 in Port Perry, On. Spademan’s Tree Farm has been a favourite for families for over 35 years. Also nearby at 4060 Mountjoy Road in Blackstock, Blackstock Christmas tree farm not only lets you cut down your own tree, but also sells some beautiful decorations and offers free hot chocolate or cider to all farm visitors.

Rouge Park can help you celebrate the holiday season and enjoy the great outdoors with a series of guided walks all month long. One of the sweetest guided walks this season is on National Maple Syrup Day. This light 5 km walk through the maple trees of Rouge Park is expected to take 2 hours.
